Narrative:

Agricultural aircraft returning from second application run of day. During application (dry fertilizer) in very turbulent conditions I decided to terminate job until conditions improved. High nervous tension job (wheat fields surrounded by tall pine trees in a box canyon). On the way back to airport engine chip detector light came on adding to mental distraction/tension. With about 4 plus mi to go, an small aircraft aircraft reported downwind runway 23. Time to get down and clear before I get there, I think. Runway 23 has been in use all morning. On long final I notice that the wind has increased in strength from the nnw. No advisory was forthcoming from unicom (I have flown 14 different aircraft of all types from this airport for the last 8 yrs and have never received a traffic or WX advisory). After I touched down I saw an small aircraft had landed on runway 5; I saw him after he turned on his landing light after we both had slowed to a taxi speed and were still 1000' apart. This was the same that was going to land on runway 23. Although the biplane is restr in visibility to the front I feel the distrs were a contributing factor. I feel that the lack of an active unicom is also a contributing factor, as are political conditions.
