Narrative:

Just outside of a VOR we experienced radio failure. We could receive but not transmit. We then squawked 7700 for approximately 1 min. Shortly after ATC responded with: we see that you are squawking emergency what services are you requesting. We then squawked 7600 to let them (ATC) know of our radio failure. ATC then told us to identify if we could receive them. We then idented and ATC proceeded to give us our instructions and had us replying by pushing the identify button. The flight was completed safely.
