Narrative:

After receiving a cancellation of an altitude restriction from ZZZ approach we initiated a climb to 6;500 ft. To practice maneuvers. Another training aircraft had us in sight but also reported another aircraft in the same area that ZZZ approach did not have on radar. We began searching for the unverified aircraft and then the aircraft passed roughly 100 ft. Directly over us in a descent into ZZZ. We descended to avoid a collision. The unverified aircraft was a bright yellow crop duster based out of ZZZ.
