Narrative:
On descent into ZZZ; we smelled a strong acrid smell like something was burning. We notified ATC and requested direct the field. We were given direct to the IAF. I went as fast as I could before the smell got worse or we started to get smoke in the cockpit. We continued the approach and landed uneventfully. [Unknown]system malfunction.
