Narrative:
While on the ground in ZZZZ the loadmaster was made aware that a small box of hazmat was found in the bulk cargo bin by the off loading crew in ZZZZ. Paperwork from an earlier leg; ZZZ-ZZZZ1; showed that the box should have been offloaded in ZZZZ1; the day prior. As a result we; unknowingly; transported hazmat without the required paperwork. The item was removed from the aircraft.
