Narrative:

I'm being told by other pilots that X captain of an small transport for another airline is telling people that 1 morning at lanai I entered the pattern on a right base (lanai is left traffic), then spiraled down through a hole in the clouds, cut him off on final (runway 3) and almost hit him, and the whole time I didn't make any calls, which is not the case. I was doing a charter in small transport from kahului, maui to lanai with 5 passenger. Prior to departure, I called FSS for WX and to file. No WX was available at 6 or 6:30 am. The skies were clear and the winds were calm. Near takeoff I monitored 122.9 (lny CTAF) right away. I head 2 small transport's landing on lanai. My friend is a copilot for 1. I asked her how the WX was, she said it was VFR. I thanked her. I made calls at 10 NM and 5 NM of where I was and my intentions, both times that I was going to pass midfield and enter left downwind. Just before the first report, I heard pilot say that he was on the VOR runway 3 approach, so I slowed down. As I got closer to the airport there was a thin patch of fob on the terminal. I could see the runway clearly, and 2 small transport's at the terminal. There was more WX over the VORTAC, which is 1.2 NM mi southwest of the airport. The top of the fog was at about 1500' MSL. It was about 2500' by the VORTAC. The field was in plain visible view. The fog was thin and burning off. Just before I reported crossing midfield, captain X called out missed approach. I said I was looking for them. I never heard from them again. After I landed the 2 small transport's departed. An small transport landed VFR. Then captain X landed, got out and walked to the terminal. I waved to him and he waved back. I was unaware of the problem. I made all my calls at appropriate times. I heard form captain X 2 times. I never saw him. I thought he elected to go around because of the WX at the VORTAC. After I landed an small transport, an mdt and an light transport all landed VFR.

Title: PLT OF LTT ALLEGES PLT OF SMT CUT HIM OFF IN THE PATTERN FOR LNDG AT LNY AFTER THE SMT WAS OBSERVED SPIRALLING DOWN THROUGH A HOLE IN THE CLOUDS.

Narrative: I'M BEING TOLD BY OTHER PLTS THAT X CAPT OF AN SMT FOR ANOTHER AIRLINE IS TELLING PEOPLE THAT 1 MORNING AT LANAI I ENTERED THE PATTERN ON A RIGHT BASE (LANAI IS LEFT TFC), THEN SPIRALED DOWN THROUGH A HOLE IN THE CLOUDS, CUT HIM OFF ON FINAL (RWY 3) AND ALMOST HIT HIM, AND THE WHOLE TIME I DIDN'T MAKE ANY CALLS, WHICH IS NOT THE CASE. I WAS DOING A CHARTER IN SMT FROM KAHULUI, MAUI TO LANAI WITH 5 PAX. PRIOR TO DEP, I CALLED FSS FOR WX AND TO FILE. NO WX WAS AVAILABLE AT 6 OR 6:30 AM. THE SKIES WERE CLR AND THE WINDS WERE CALM. NEAR TKOF I MONITORED 122.9 (LNY CTAF) RIGHT AWAY. I HEAD 2 SMT'S LNDG ON LANAI. MY FRIEND IS A COPLT FOR 1. I ASKED HER HOW THE WX WAS, SHE SAID IT WAS VFR. I THANKED HER. I MADE CALLS AT 10 NM AND 5 NM OF WHERE I WAS AND MY INTENTIONS, BOTH TIMES THAT I WAS GOING TO PASS MIDFIELD AND ENTER LEFT DOWNWIND. JUST BEFORE THE FIRST RPT, I HEARD PLT SAY THAT HE WAS ON THE VOR RWY 3 APCH, SO I SLOWED DOWN. AS I GOT CLOSER TO THE ARPT THERE WAS A THIN PATCH OF FOB ON THE TERMINAL. I COULD SEE THE RWY CLEARLY, AND 2 SMT'S AT THE TERMINAL. THERE WAS MORE WX OVER THE VORTAC, WHICH IS 1.2 NM MI SW OF THE ARPT. THE TOP OF THE FOG WAS AT ABOUT 1500' MSL. IT WAS ABOUT 2500' BY THE VORTAC. THE FIELD WAS IN PLAIN VISIBLE VIEW. THE FOG WAS THIN AND BURNING OFF. JUST BEFORE I RPTED XING MIDFIELD, CAPT X CALLED OUT MISSED APCH. I SAID I WAS LOOKING FOR THEM. I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN. AFTER I LANDED THE 2 SMT'S DEPARTED. AN SMT LANDED VFR. THEN CAPT X LANDED, GOT OUT AND WALKED TO THE TERMINAL. I WAVED TO HIM AND HE WAVED BACK. I WAS UNAWARE OF THE PROB. I MADE ALL MY CALLS AT APPROPRIATE TIMES. I HEARD FORM CAPT X 2 TIMES. I NEVER SAW HIM. I THOUGHT HE ELECTED TO GO AROUND BECAUSE OF THE WX AT THE VORTAC. AFTER I LANDED AN SMT, AN MDT AND AN LTT ALL LANDED VFR.
