Narrative:

Landed on runway 24R at lax. As we were exiting left on taxiway aa ATC instructed us to cross runway 24L. As we were proceeding onto aa suddenly the red runway status lights lit up. We were able to stop in time and then saw an aircraft taking off on runway 24L fly right over us. Subsequently ATC cleared us to cross runway 24L once again and taxied to gate uneventfully.
