Narrative:

The reason for this report is to clarify the request of priority handling to ATC on 2/fri/91. While in ft wayne, in, my first officer had complained of stomach cramps. About 15 mins before departure he came out to the aircraft and told me he was fit to fly and I looked him straight in the eye to make sure he wasn't lying to me, and my first officer performed all the duties required of him. About 60 mi north of bowling green he told me that he was starting to feel worse and that he wouldn't be able to finish the rest of the flying required of us later on that day. 40 mi north of bwg ATC cleared us to slow to 180 KTS. With my first officer in mind, I requested priority handling into bna and that my first officer is feeling sick. We were given direct to bna with no speed reduction. In the crew room there was a message for me to call the chief pilot's secretary. She told me that she needed more information so she could fill out a report to the NTSB for an incapacitated crew member. She also told me that the FAA had monitored my flight from the time that I requested priority handling to landing. I told her that the first officer wasn't incapacitated and that I did the request as a preventive measure to keep him from getting sic in the cockpit and that he performed all of his duties as first officer.
