Narrative:

Large transport on approach to runway 26 iah. The aircraft was cleared for a visibility approach and descended below the TCA at 10 mi from airport. The large transport was at 1100'. The controller recieved a low altitude alert, to which he advised tower controller to have aircraft check its altitude. The aircraft crossed the OM at 1000' and stayed at that altitude until approximately 2 mi final to runway 26. Did not appear that crew flew aircraft at or above G/south for runway 26, which had mandatory crossing of 2000', which the company policy calls for, or used all available navaids during approach.
