Narrative:

Upon parking the aircraft; a strong odor filled the back galley; right side. The left side air vents were closed off; making the odor stronger aircraft right. Flight attendant 4; answered the call from flight attendant 1 for the monitor and challenge when this odor filled the aft galley and my nostrils; burning intensely. After verification of doors; I grabbed tissues and covered my nose. I shouted 'fumes; fumes' to flight attendant 2 and he quickly ducked into lav and covered his nose and mouth with wet paper towels. He did get a small whiff of the odor and that helped me verify a description of the smell as a varnish; paint remover smell. I immediately called the captain and reported this to him and he said it was probable fuel intake and I told him no; [it must be] something stronger and to report it. He said he would but I later found out he had not.it was the last leg of the captains trip and I understand not wanting to spend time with a write up or discrepancy of the aircraft; but this was a safety issue and possibly harmful to the next crew and/or passengers. I have no way of offering a way of preventing this in the future if the flight deck will not believe a flight attendant with over 30 years of experienced flying.
