Narrative:

I got the keys to the flying club small aircraft aircraft to do some afternoon flying. After preflight and chkout, I was cleared for takeoff and flew to the townsend area where I proceeded to do five touch-and-go's at the townsend airport. After the fifth touch-and-go, I flew up past canyon ferry reservoir to hauser lake dam, where I proceeded in a south westerly direction. At 10 mi north and east of the helena airport, I called the tower and was cleared in and told to report when I was 1 mi out, which I did. At that time, I was cleared to land. Upon landing the aircraft flaired slightly high, so I increased throttle to correct the flair. The aircraft abruptly pitched left, apparently catching the left wing tip, coming to rest off the runway.

Title: GA SMA STALLED OUT ON LNDG 'CATCHING' LEFT WINGTIP AND CAUSING A RWY EXCURSION.

Narrative: I GOT THE KEYS TO THE FLYING CLUB SMA ACFT TO DO SOME AFTERNOON FLYING. AFTER PREFLT AND CHKOUT, I WAS CLRED FOR TKOF AND FLEW TO THE TOWNSEND AREA WHERE I PROCEEDED TO DO FIVE TOUCH-AND-GO'S AT THE TOWNSEND ARPT. AFTER THE FIFTH TOUCH-AND-GO, I FLEW UP PAST CANYON FERRY RESERVOIR TO HAUSER LAKE DAM, WHERE I PROCEEDED IN A SOUTH WESTERLY DIRECTION. AT 10 MI N AND E OF THE HELENA ARPT, I CALLED THE TWR AND WAS CLRED IN AND TOLD TO RPT WHEN I WAS 1 MI OUT, WHICH I DID. AT THAT TIME, I WAS CLRED TO LAND. UPON LNDG THE ACFT FLAIRED SLIGHTLY HIGH, SO I INCREASED THROTTLE TO CORRECT THE FLAIR. THE ACFT ABRUPTLY PITCHED L, APPARENTLY CATCHING THE L WING TIP, COMING TO REST OFF THE RWY.
