Narrative:

Nzj was open but the tower was closed. I filed an IFR flight plan with coast by phone and contacted coast from the aircraft in the run-up area for my clearance. After reaching my clearance, I informed nzj traffic of my intention, but I did not change from 124.1 to 133.1, so the traffic did not know of my intrusion and I didn't know of the traffic. This mistake on my part caused an aircraft on short final to go around. All procedures were followed except the simple push of a button to change the active frequency on the radio. As I said, the tower was cleared and the lesson I learned was that those of us who fly out of controled airports and file IFR flight plans rely too much on the system to stop from making simple mistakes that can be deadly.
