Narrative:

On taxiing for takeoff in bos on runway 27 at night, as we approached the holding area we called #1 for takeoff. Tower replied, 'you are #2 behind a commuter.' we said again that no one else was there and we were #1. The commuter then called and said he was ready on 27. He was parked off to the right edge of the holding area. With all the white runway lights, city lights, boat lights and no red rotating beacon, this commuter was next to invisible.
