Narrative:

Final approach course for NDB 22 at sch and ILS runway 19 at alb are very close to each other. We were on a practice NDB runway 22 at sch outbnd. My student began his procedure turn early and we had to correct back on course. Then we began the procedure turn again and student reset compass, but reset 15 degrees off. I tried to get him to reset again, but compass was bouncing around due to large transport to mdt turbulence. We reported pt inbound and alb approach handed us off to sch tower. Transitioning from approach to tower while trying to get student to reset compass and tower asking questions, combined with turbulence, we flew through our course and came close to ILS runway 19 alb VMC and could not see anyone on approach, but alb did call sch tower to query.
