Narrative:

I was about 20 mins out of mem on the wallet arrival and received the ATIS. Landing on 36L and right, so while I had the time I set up the ILS 36R approach on the #2 navigation. I was gong to request 36r4 when I was turned over to mem approach control. When I did get to approach control, I got busy with 3 heading changes and 3 altitude changes. When I started getting vectors, I just looked up at the #2 navigation and set the same frequency in the #1 navigation west/O even thinking that approach control had told me, 'vectors to ILS 36L.' this is a pure case of pilot error. In the future, I will only setup the approach I am cleared for. It is ok to ask for a specific approach, but wait for approval. It is good to plan ahead, but don't get too far ahead.
