Narrative:
I was on an instrument flight plan and had been handed off from approach to scottsdale tower. We were cleared to land. Aircraft Y had also been cleared to land but because we were close together; tower kept him on base to avoid us being too close together. Aircraft Y missed our tail on our aircraft by 5 ft. Or so. Aircraft Y came on the radio and let tower know we had a near miss. Fortunately we were able to come in and land without further incident.
