Narrative:

As we were taxiing out ground control stated they were changing runways from runway 28 to runway 33L. The markers at the end of these runways are confusing--not clearly marked as they both intersect toward the end of the runway. Another contributing factor was they were landing on runway 24 also. Thinking we were going to the farthest runway, I inadvertently crossed 33L. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: reporter indicated that he became confused, and when he saw another aircraft landing on runway 24 he thought that was his assigned runway. He began to taxi toward it and the tower corrected him. The tower then asked if the signs at the intersection of runways 28 and 33 and the east taxiway had confused him, and he replied, 'yes.' the reporter could not specify any particular shortcomings of the taxiway/runway markings and signs.

Title: LTT INADVERTENTLY CROSSES ACTIVE RWY.

Narrative: AS WE WERE TAXIING OUT GND CTL STATED THEY WERE CHANGING RWYS FROM RWY 28 TO RWY 33L. THE MARKERS AT THE END OF THESE RWYS ARE CONFUSING--NOT CLRLY MARKED AS THEY BOTH INTERSECT TOWARD THE END OF THE RWY. ANOTHER CONTRIBUTING FACTOR WAS THEY WERE LNDG ON RWY 24 ALSO. THINKING WE WERE GOING TO THE FARTHEST RWY, I INADVERTENTLY CROSSED 33L. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: RPTR INDICATED THAT HE BECAME CONFUSED, AND WHEN HE SAW ANOTHER ACFT LNDG ON RWY 24 HE THOUGHT THAT WAS HIS ASSIGNED RWY. HE BEGAN TO TAXI TOWARD IT AND THE TWR CORRECTED HIM. THE TWR THEN ASKED IF THE SIGNS AT THE INTXN OF RWYS 28 AND 33 AND THE E TXWY HAD CONFUSED HIM, AND HE REPLIED, 'YES.' THE RPTR COULD NOT SPECIFY ANY PARTICULAR SHORTCOMINGS OF THE TXWY/RWY MARKINGS AND SIGNS.
