Narrative:

On approach, vectored by pdx approach control. Assigned heading 250 degrees to intercept runway 28 ILS localizer. Given clearance from 7000' MSL to 5500' MSL. At approximately 6000' MSL, GPWS warning (mode 2) gave 'terrain, terrain' alert followed by 'whoop, whoop; pull up.' initiated a climb to 7000' MSL. Advised ATC during climb of our action. ATC advised that at the time of occurrence, we were at least 700' above the minimum sector altitude.
