Narrative:

My captain and I were taking position on the active runway for departure. I was running checklists to include 2 delayed checklists. Cleared for takeoff. Captain responded, then instructed me to finish the checks as he 'holds' the brakes and pushed up the throttles to ensure an even engine spool-up on our medium large transport. Takeoff warning horn sounded. The captain pulled throttles back to idle, and eyeballed me impatiently as I continued to run and finish the taxi and before takeoff checklists, to include lowering the flaps to 5 degrees. In fact, we rolled about 50' during the mini-abort. Subsequent takeoff was uneventful. Captain and I had become complacent during the long taxi to stapleton's runway 35R, especially in coordinating a schedule for checklist completion. We had delayed an engine start to save fuel, and we'd also delayed the taxi checklist due to contaminated txwys (kept flaps up to keep flap tracks clear). I should have requested from captain the time I needed to complete these checklists prior to taking the runway. I doubt that I'll be easily convinced to delay more than 1 checklist anymore. However, in the future, I'll definitely coordinate with the captain when we plan to complete any delayed checklists. And, I vow to be more assertive in requesting the time I will need to complete checklists--a vow that many first officer's and second officer's might care to reaffirm to themselves.

Title: ACR DELAYS CHECKLIST DUE CONTAMINATED TXWYS. RUSH TO COMPLETE WHILE BEGINNING TO POWER UP AND TKOF ROLL WITHOUT FLAPS EXTENDED.

Narrative: MY CAPT AND I WERE TAKING POS ON THE ACTIVE RWY FOR DEP. I WAS RUNNING CHKLISTS TO INCLUDE 2 DELAYED CHKLISTS. CLRED FOR TKOF. CAPT RESPONDED, THEN INSTRUCTED ME TO FINISH THE CHKS AS HE 'HOLDS' THE BRAKES AND PUSHED UP THE THROTTLES TO ENSURE AN EVEN ENG SPOOL-UP ON OUR MLG. TKOF WARNING HORN SOUNDED. THE CAPT PULLED THROTTLES BACK TO IDLE, AND EYEBALLED ME IMPATIENTLY AS I CONTINUED TO RUN AND FINISH THE TAXI AND BEFORE TKOF CHKLISTS, TO INCLUDE LOWERING THE FLAPS TO 5 DEGS. IN FACT, WE ROLLED ABOUT 50' DURING THE MINI-ABORT. SUBSEQUENT TKOF WAS UNEVENTFUL. CAPT AND I HAD BECOME COMPLACENT DURING THE LONG TAXI TO STAPLETON'S RWY 35R, ESPECIALLY IN COORDINATING A SCHEDULE FOR CHKLIST COMPLETION. WE HAD DELAYED AN ENG START TO SAVE FUEL, AND WE'D ALSO DELAYED THE TAXI CHKLIST DUE TO CONTAMINATED TXWYS (KEPT FLAPS UP TO KEEP FLAP TRACKS CLR). I SHOULD HAVE REQUESTED FROM CAPT THE TIME I NEEDED TO COMPLETE THESE CHKLISTS PRIOR TO TAKING THE RWY. I DOUBT THAT I'LL BE EASILY CONVINCED TO DELAY MORE THAN 1 CHKLIST ANYMORE. HOWEVER, IN THE FUTURE, I'LL DEFINITELY COORDINATE WITH THE CAPT WHEN WE PLAN TO COMPLETE ANY DELAYED CHKLISTS. AND, I VOW TO BE MORE ASSERTIVE IN REQUESTING THE TIME I WILL NEED TO COMPLETE CHKLISTS--A VOW THAT MANY F/O'S AND S/O'S MIGHT CARE TO REAFFIRM TO THEMSELVES.
