During an ATC assigned descent from 6;000 feet to 4;000 feet along V16 heading southbound; at approximately 8 NM from jfk VOR I saw an object (presumably a drone) with a green light on it go past my left wing. It was very close; I estimate approximately 10 feet off of my wing. I passed it as I was descending through 5;800 feet.
