Narrative:

At the conclusion of an instruction flight on sunday 12/xx/90 at xx:55, I, acting CFI, contacted centennial tower at the radome inbound chkpoint (15 NM east). Tower replied, 'small aircraft X advise when reaching parker and arapahoe road intersection.' (3 mi northeast). I repeated the clearance and proceeded inbound. Tower radio was busy but I managed to call out 'small aircraft X parker and arapahoe.' tower responded 'small aircraft X #2 to land runway 17L.' I responded 'small aircraft X #2 on runway 17L.' at approximately 1 northeast tower called out 'small aircraft X #1 cleared to land runway 17R.' my response was 'small aircraft X #1 cleared to land runway 17R.' I passed runway 17L and lined up for final approach to ry 17R. At approximately 200' AGL tower called out 'small aircraft X I cleared you on runway 17L.' my response was 'small aircraft X going around.' tower said 'small aircraft X make a climbing left turn and enter left hand traffic for runway 17L.' I repeated clearance and complied. After landing, a fellow flight club member (a soloing student pilot) approached me and said I had cut him off on final to runway 17R. Having never seen him I was quite surprised at this comment. It seems that my altitude was lower than his having set up for runway 17L initially. With an small aircraft X the other airplane higher, slightly behind and in the sun. I never saw him. As we discussed the incident further he mentioned that the controller asked him if he would like to file a report against me. He declined. After post-flight discussion with my student, a pilot from another club flying in the area approached me and said he heard the incident and would act as a witness on my behalf. He verified that I had in fact had been cleared to land on runway 17R. He also offered his name and phone number for further questioning.

Title: SMA X CUT OUT ANOTHER ACFT IN THE TRAFFIC PATTERN BY LINING UP FOR THE WRONG RWY.

Narrative: AT THE CONCLUSION OF AN INSTRUCTION FLT ON SUNDAY 12/XX/90 AT XX:55, I, ACTING CFI, CONTACTED CENTENNIAL TWR AT THE RADOME INBND CHKPOINT (15 NM EAST). TWR REPLIED, 'SMA X ADVISE WHEN REACHING PARKER AND ARAPAHOE ROAD INTXN.' (3 MI NE). I REPEATED THE CLRNC AND PROCEEDED INBND. TWR RADIO WAS BUSY BUT I MANAGED TO CALL OUT 'SMA X PARKER AND ARAPAHOE.' TWR RESPONDED 'SMA X #2 TO LAND RWY 17L.' I RESPONDED 'SMA X #2 ON RWY 17L.' AT APPROX 1 NE TWR CALLED OUT 'SMA X #1 CLRED TO LAND RWY 17R.' MY RESPONSE WAS 'SMA X #1 CLRED TO LAND RWY 17R.' I PASSED RWY 17L AND LINED UP FOR FINAL APCH TO RY 17R. AT APPROX 200' AGL TWR CALLED OUT 'SMA X I CLRED YOU ON RWY 17L.' MY RESPONSE WAS 'SMA X GOING AROUND.' TWR SAID 'SMA X MAKE A CLBING L TURN AND ENTER L HAND TFC FOR RWY 17L.' I REPEATED CLRNC AND COMPLIED. AFTER LNDG, A FELLOW FLT CLUB MEMBER (A SOLOING STUDENT PLT) APCHED ME AND SAID I HAD CUT HIM OFF ON FINAL TO RWY 17R. HAVING NEVER SEEN HIM I WAS QUITE SURPRISED AT THIS COMMENT. IT SEEMS THAT MY ALT WAS LOWER THAN HIS HAVING SET UP FOR RWY 17L INITIALLY. WITH AN SMA X THE OTHER AIRPLANE HIGHER, SLIGHTLY BEHIND AND IN THE SUN. I NEVER SAW HIM. AS WE DISCUSSED THE INCIDENT FURTHER HE MENTIONED THAT THE CTLR ASKED HIM IF HE WOULD LIKE TO FILE A RPT AGAINST ME. HE DECLINED. AFTER POST-FLT DISCUSSION WITH MY STUDENT, A PLT FROM ANOTHER CLUB FLYING IN THE AREA APCHED ME AND SAID HE HEARD THE INCIDENT AND WOULD ACT AS A WITNESS ON MY BEHALF. HE VERIFIED THAT I HAD IN FACT HAD BEEN CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 17R. HE ALSO OFFERED HIS NAME AND PHONE NUMBER FOR FURTHER QUESTIONING.
