Narrative:

We were asked to expedite taxi past [taxiway] and proceed to gate. As I turned into ramp area with taxi lights on we both saw a white van approaching at a fast pace. We both watched him as I continued around the corner into the gate area. Then I realized he was not going to stop so I braked hard to avoid him. After I stopped; the white van also stopped and backed up. I do not know why he didn't see us and almost hit us.arrest the driver. Remedial training. Distracted driving school.
