Narrative:

Engine fire warning in #3 engine due to overheat. CSD out of limits and would not disconnect. Engine shutdown and aircraft returned to hnl. Altitude was lost due to being unable to maintain assigned altitude 31000' to 28500'. Communication was HF though hnl and others causing delay in receiving lower altitude clearance.

Title: ACR WDB HAD TO SHUT ENGINE DOWN DUE TO AN OVERHEATED CSD THAT WOULD NOT DISCONNECT. ACFT LOST ALT BEFORE CLRNC RECEIVED. FLT CREW WAS USING HF COMMERCIAL RADIO CAUSING SOME DELAY IN GETTING CLRNC TO LOWER ALT.
