Narrative:

Aircraft recently came out of maintenance. Pilot took off under IFR for a one hour flight. Shortly after wheels up, engine began running rough. I informed the tower that I'd like to return to the field and told them the nature of the problem. Tower handed me to departure and vectored me back to ILS runway. When IFR especially singe engine at night don't continue on when problems arise. They'll probably get worse.
