Narrative:

Departure clearance out of lax was loop 8 with daggett transition. Briefed departure off of runway 25R as it had been used previously on this routing. Loop 8 calls for a heading change to 235 degree after crossing smo 154 degree right on runway 25R. Lax ground cleared us to runway 24L for departure. Although loop 8 SID's were clipped to both capts and first officer's yokes, both failed to note altered procedure for runway 24L, ie, no heading change required. On climb out departure control asked for our heading. We responded 235 degree and rechked the published procedure. Noting that we should have been on a 250 degree heading , we volunteered to turn immediately. Departure control's response 'no problem stay on present heading.' after the incident, when talking on telephone to lax TRACON supervisor, he reported there was a traffic conflict.
