Narrative:

Upon takeoff from charleston, sc, the primary time motor locked out. With takeoff trim and a clearance to 2000', it took both pilots to level the aircraft and we overshot our altitude to about 200' before pushing the plane over to maintain 2000'. The alternate trim worked ok and we regained control using the alternate system. Once the alternate trim was actuated the primary trim started working again and we continued to savannah, GA. Maintenance could not duplicate the problem at sav. There were no known traffic conflicts or departure problems, just a handful of airplane at a low altitude.
