Narrative:

I am the C flight attendant (flight attendant). I was walking towards the aft of the aircraft doing a compliance check after the demo. As I was putting the demo kit away; that's when I smelled the fuel smell. I immediately went forward to let the other fas know and ask if one of them could come back so I could have another opinion since I'm a newer flight attendant and still learning my airplane noises and smells. The a; came back to smell and she said that it was definitely not normal and called the captain right away. Multiple passengers were asking about the smell as well. I started to develop a headache and the [a] started to get nauseated. They made an announcement that we were going back to the gate to de-plane while maintenance figured out what was wrong.
