Mlt X and mlt Y were westbound in north atlantic. Mlt Y progressed 50 west at FL310 requesting FL350, mlt X was already at FL350. Mlt Y was climbed to FL350. Upon reaching FL350, I noticed he was in confliction with mlt X. I immediately descended mlt X to FL330. Mlt Y then reported sighting overtaking an aircraft abeam him at 3 mi. Later message said that when mlt X reported level at FL330, at same time mlt Y reported the sighting.
