Narrative:

Upon arrival at the flight deck; the first officer (first officer) pointed out at the planned dangerous goods summary. It indicated a shipment of lithium ion batteries. We then researched the fom (flight operations manual) for guidance; and based on the information described in the summary and fom; I called operations to query the discrepancy. Operations said that a ramp agent would come up to the flight deck to provide more detailed information. Following that; I then placed a call to the [duty manager] to further discuss the issue. The ramp person that showed up was ill-informed and could not answer some basic questions that I asked in regards to that shipment. Ultimately; I felt very uncomfortable with the situation and in the best interest of safety; I requested the shipment be removed from the aircraft.
