Narrative:

We were in cruise at FL320. The cabin called us to report fumes in the aft galley. The flight attendant (flight attendant) reported that she had followed her procedure for such an event which included shutting down the galley and pulling the circuit breaker in the aft galley. I said call me back in a minute and let me know if it clears. She called back almost immediately and told me that the fumes were getting worst and that it smelled like burning plastic. My first officer (first officer) and I immediately donned our O2 masks and followed the procedure for 'smoke.' I complied with the emergency procedure while the first officer (PF; pilot flying) [notified ATC]. ZZZ was the closest suitable airport; so we requested an immediate descent and vectors for an approach into ZZZ. Late in the descent; the flight attendant's reported that the fumes had diminished somewhat. We landed at ZZZ. Arff (airport rescue and fire fighting) approached the aircraft and after checking the cargo holds; could not determine the source of the fumes.
