Narrative:
On takeoff roll out of mia, #2 engine gave a thud type of noise, followed by engine vibration, and subsequently the #2 engine failed. The engine failure occurred at 110-115 KTS, which was 10-15 KTS below V1. We successfully aborted the takeoff and taxied back to the gate. Supplemental information from acn 161893: we later learned the engine had failed due to aft turbine section failure.

Title: ACR MLG ENGINE FAILURE DURING TKOF.
Narrative: ON TKOF ROLL OUT OF MIA, #2 ENG GAVE A THUD TYPE OF NOISE, FOLLOWED BY ENG VIBRATION, AND SUBSEQUENTLY THE #2 ENG FAILED. THE ENG FAILURE OCCURRED AT 110-115 KTS, WHICH WAS 10-15 KTS BELOW V1. WE SUCCESSFULLY ABORTED THE TKOF AND TAXIED BACK TO THE GATE. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 161893: WE LATER LEARNED THE ENG HAD FAILED DUE TO AFT TURBINE SECTION FAILURE.
