Narrative:

During cruise the hydraulic-a system failed. The abnormal checklist was completed. Sjc operations was notified and asked to send a tug to the end of the runway. The tower was advised that we might have to be towed clear of the runway. The remaining cruise, descent, approach and landing were uneventful. T/D and the initial rollout were on centerline. During the final rollout I was unable to keep the aircraft on the runway using right engine reverse and right brake. The aircraft left the left side of the runway at a slow speed. The aircraft was towed to the gate with no apparent damage from the landing.
