Departed rwy xx at ZZZ. Tower had just opened and revised our clearance to include [a specific] departure. We loaded that into the box and briefed the departure. The flight director commanded a right turn prior to the ZZZ1 VOR instead of entering the hold to climb. Before we could correct it; approach cleared us onto the airway; and stated 'it's no problem; [those] aircraft FMS' seem to always command that turn early.'
