Narrative:

Due to last minute switch in departure runways, the procedure to be used for departure changed, though it was still the knik 3. As we were originally cleared for knik 3 off runway 32 we had briefed for that runway. Snow removal equipment closed that runway, causing a change to runway 6L. The only significant differences between anc 9 and knik 3 is on 6L or 6R, none on 24, 32 or 14. Confusion resulting from the last minute change caused us to mistakenly fly the anc 9, resulting in a right turn after departure, not a left turn. This knik 3 off runway 6L is very rare for us. I do not believe I had ever flown it before. As a recommendation I think this type of error could be avoided by calling all the anc 9-KNIK 3 departures anc 9, except for the runway 6L/right turn to the north, which could be called knik 3, eliminating the commonality and possible confusion.
