Narrative:

Upon landing on runway 18 at dallas love field and turning off the runway at the first high speed turnoff, I called the ground controller (121.75) and advised of my landing and my intention to park at the local FBO. I was then cleared 'taxi to parking.' I then proceeded on taxiway delta eastbound. In order to reach the FBO requires taxiing across runway 13L which was being used by name airline jets. As I was crossing the runway I looked up and to my shock there was a medium large transport jet already touching down no more than 800-1000' from my location on the runway. Since I was already in the middle of the runway the only response was to add full power and hope to get across the runway before being demolished. The jet passed behind me narrowly missing my aircraft by no more than 100'. Upon reaching the other side of the runway and calming myself down I called the ground controller and asked why he ok'ed me to cross runway 13L by saying 'taxi to parking' and not telling me to hold short of runway 13L landing traffic. He then said he was sorry and left it at that. In my opinion this event happened due to two reasons. First, the ground controller thought I had landed on runway 13L. He should have been paying better attention. Second I should have not begun to cross the runway west/O looking first. This type of situation can be avoided in the future simply by showing all pilots and controllers a video of what it looks like to have a large jet bearing down on you from 800' and going 150 mph. After seeing such a video no pilot will ever cross arwy west/O looking first and ground controllers will take their job a lot more seriously. Furthermore, I would like to add that if this situation had been entirely my fault, the FAA would have revoked my license immediately and put me through hell, not to mention the bad press general aviation would receive. It is not fair that controllers do not receive the same treatment as pilots when they are in error.

Title: AFTER LNDG SMA CHANGED OVER TO GND CTL AND RECEIVED CLRNC TO FBO. ACFT ENCOUNTERED A LNDG ACR WHILE CROSSING RWY.

Narrative: UPON LNDG ON RWY 18 AT DALLAS LOVE FIELD AND TURNING OFF THE RWY AT THE FIRST HIGH SPD TURNOFF, I CALLED THE GND CTLR (121.75) AND ADVISED OF MY LNDG AND MY INTENTION TO PARK AT THE LCL FBO. I WAS THEN CLRED 'TAXI TO PARKING.' I THEN PROCEEDED ON TXWY DELTA EBND. IN ORDER TO REACH THE FBO REQUIRES TAXIING ACROSS RWY 13L WHICH WAS BEING USED BY NAME AIRLINE JETS. AS I WAS XING THE RWY I LOOKED UP AND TO MY SHOCK THERE WAS A MLG JET ALREADY TOUCHING DOWN NO MORE THAN 800-1000' FROM MY LOCATION ON THE RWY. SINCE I WAS ALREADY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RWY THE ONLY RESPONSE WAS TO ADD FULL PWR AND HOPE TO GET ACROSS THE RWY BEFORE BEING DEMOLISHED. THE JET PASSED BEHIND ME NARROWLY MISSING MY ACFT BY NO MORE THAN 100'. UPON REACHING THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RWY AND CALMING MYSELF DOWN I CALLED THE GND CTLR AND ASKED WHY HE OK'ED ME TO CROSS RWY 13L BY SAYING 'TAXI TO PARKING' AND NOT TELLING ME TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 13L LNDG TFC. HE THEN SAID HE WAS SORRY AND LEFT IT AT THAT. IN MY OPINION THIS EVENT HAPPENED DUE TO TWO REASONS. FIRST, THE GND CTLR THOUGHT I HAD LANDED ON RWY 13L. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN PAYING BETTER ATTN. SECOND I SHOULD HAVE NOT BEGUN TO CROSS THE RWY W/O LOOKING FIRST. THIS TYPE OF SITUATION CAN BE AVOIDED IN THE FUTURE SIMPLY BY SHOWING ALL PLTS AND CTLRS A VIDEO OF WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE TO HAVE A LARGE JET BEARING DOWN ON YOU FROM 800' AND GOING 150 MPH. AFTER SEEING SUCH A VIDEO NO PLT WILL EVER CROSS ARWY W/O LOOKING FIRST AND GND CTLRS WILL TAKE THEIR JOB A LOT MORE SERIOUSLY. IT IS NOT FAIR THAT CTLRS DO NOT RECEIVE THE SAME TREATMENT AS PLTS WHEN THEY ARE IN ERROR.
