Narrative:

On 10/thu/90 at XX20 PDT, heading 120 degrees a military aircraft mlt Y passed directly in front of us at our altitude heading approximately 030 degrees (right to left). The mlt X was in contact with the high altitude controller at ZOA and had been cleared from FL260 to FL240. There was no callout from our controller (low altitude sector) that the mlt Y would be crossing our flight path at FL240. After telling center of our near midair, he said the mlt Y was reporting level at FL240 on his scope. We advised center that the mlt Y was at our altitude and for him to save the tapes because a report would be filed.
