Narrative:
I failed to understand a tower command and proceeded to taxi onto the active. As I looked left I saw landing traffic. I'm still not sure tower didn't say cleared for takeoff but they must have said hold short. I should have asked them to repeat.

Narrative: I FAILED TO UNDERSTAND A TWR COMMAND AND PROCEEDED TO TAXI ONTO THE ACTIVE. AS I LOOKED LEFT I SAW LNDG TFC. I'M STILL NOT SURE TWR DIDN'T SAY CLRED FOR TKOF BUT THEY MUST HAVE SAID HOLD SHORT. I SHOULD HAVE ASKED THEM TO REPEAT.
