Narrative:
Conducting the visual approach; RNAV back up runway 28C in pit. ATC instructed maintain 3;500 feet until established on final. Crossed FAF about 500 feet high to comply. As I was making a positive correction to get the aircraft on vertical profile; received a 'terrain; terrain'. This occurred above 2;000 feet. Made slight correction; warning ceased and landed uneventfully.
