Narrative:

After takeoff runway 19, tower switched us over to departure and departure said to fly heading 090 degree. I read back, 'widebody transport X left turn heading 090 degree.' during the turn, departure asked if we were in a left turn and said our assigned heading was 290 degree. All 3 of us in the cockpit heard 090, and I read back 090, 'left turn.' the controller should have heard my readback and corrected the situation. Supplemental information from acn 158275. The first officer was careful to repeat the heading because it sounded unusual for our departure.

Narrative: AFTER TKOF RWY 19, TWR SWITCHED US OVER TO DEP AND DEP SAID TO FLY HDG 090 DEG. I READ BACK, 'WDB X LEFT TURN HDG 090 DEG.' DURING THE TURN, DEP ASKED IF WE WERE IN A L TURN AND SAID OUR ASSIGNED HDG WAS 290 DEG. ALL 3 OF US IN THE COCKPIT HEARD 090, AND I READ BACK 090, 'L TURN.' THE CTLR SHOULD HAVE HEARD MY READBACK AND CORRECTED THE SITUATION. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 158275. THE F/O WAS CAREFUL TO REPEAT THE HDG BECAUSE IT SOUNDED UNUSUAL FOR OUR DEP.
