Narrative:

Controllers at this facility handling large amounts of traffic. Consequently they are encouraging aircraft to accept visibility approachs (keep other aircraft in sight, or airport) when in fact WX/visibility is questionable. My landing runway was changed 3 times in 5 mins on approach (25L, 24R, sidestep 24L). Along with that they slide in other aircraft on approach (6 DME!) and expect you to maintain visibility when you're entering cloud banks. This practice is a serious threat to air carrier safety margins.

Title: ACR PIC COMPLAINS OF VISUAL APCH CLRNCS AND RWY CHANGES FROM LAX APCH CTLRS AS A THREAT TO ACR SAFETY.

Narrative: CTLRS AT THIS FAC HANDLING LARGE AMOUNTS OF TFC. CONSEQUENTLY THEY ARE ENCOURAGING ACFT TO ACCEPT VIS APCHS (KEEP OTHER ACFT IN SIGHT, OR ARPT) WHEN IN FACT WX/VISIBILITY IS QUESTIONABLE. MY LNDG RWY WAS CHANGED 3 TIMES IN 5 MINS ON APCH (25L, 24R, SIDESTEP 24L). ALONG WITH THAT THEY SLIDE IN OTHER ACFT ON APCH (6 DME!) AND EXPECT YOU TO MAINTAIN VIS WHEN YOU'RE ENTERING CLOUD BANKS.
