Narrative:

I taxied out at sfo to runway 1L. Taxiing along very very slowly, I taxied across the hold short line and the nose of my airplane was slightly across the extended threshold when I stopped. There is a centerline that runs up to the runway but no side lines. The hold short line is not very well painted and with 3 sets of eyes in the cockpit and doing the before takeoff duties it was proven that the lie can be xed west/O being noticed. At night this hold short line is lighted. This approach to the runway is unlike any in the USA. There should be some painted lines on the runway extension. On runway 28C at pit this extension has yellow lines on either side adn a centerline. There is a potential for more encroachments unless more paint is used.

Title: FLC OF MLG WITH COCKPIT OBSERVER TAXIING TO RWY 1L AT SFO OVERRAN THE HOLD LINE.

Narrative: I TAXIED OUT AT SFO TO RWY 1L. TAXIING ALONG VERY VERY SLOWLY, I TAXIED ACROSS THE HOLD SHORT LINE AND THE NOSE OF MY AIRPLANE WAS SLIGHTLY ACROSS THE EXTENDED THRESHOLD WHEN I STOPPED. THERE IS A CTRLINE THAT RUNS UP TO THE RWY BUT NO SIDE LINES. THE HOLD SHORT LINE IS NOT VERY WELL PAINTED AND WITH 3 SETS OF EYES IN THE COCKPIT AND DOING THE BEFORE TKOF DUTIES IT WAS PROVEN THAT THE LIE CAN BE XED W/O BEING NOTICED. AT NIGHT THIS HOLD SHORT LINE IS LIGHTED. THIS APCH TO THE RWY IS UNLIKE ANY IN THE USA. THERE SHOULD BE SOME PAINTED LINES ON THE RWY EXTENSION. ON RWY 28C AT PIT THIS EXTENSION HAS YELLOW LINES ON EITHER SIDE ADN A CTRLINE. THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR MORE ENCROACHMENTS UNLESS MORE PAINT IS USED.
