Narrative:

I was working the manual position at bkw hi sector ZID ARTCC. Air carrier X was a southbound flight deviating west for thunderstorms at FL280. Air carrier Y northbound was also at FL280. Air carrier X was descended to FL270. Air carrier Y data block indicated that he was descending and turning. In the meantime air carrier X was turned to 330 degree and descended to FL240. Air carrier Y data block showed FL265 so air carrier X was climbed to FL280 on a 270 degree heading sep was lost.

ACR Y DATA BLOCK INDICATED THAT HE WAS DSNDING AND TURNING. IN THE MEANTIME ACR X WAS TURNED TO 330 DEG AND DSNDED TO FL240. ACR Y DATA BLOCK SHOWED FL265 SO ACR X WAS CLBED TO FL280 ON A 270 DEG HDG SEP WAS LOST.
