While on approach into syr; practicing visual approach on initial operator experience we came close to a tower that was not briefed in the approach briefing.cause: visual approach briefing did not include towers found on other approach charts. We took evasive action and turned off the autopilot to avoid the tower. Suggestions: brief a plate or approach even though visual conditions exist.
