Left critical engine failure after switching to auxiliary fuel tanks. Also oil leaking - left engine. After the failure - tried to troubleshoot - the engine started to work and quit 3 times. [Advised ATC]. [I] was advised to land at ZZZ - 5NM far airport - non-controlled airport; 4000ft runway - no fire trucks; services or assistance. Decided for ZZZ1 though; 30 NM far; 8000ft runway; fire trucks; services and assistance available; 8000ft long runway. Landed safely; no damage or injuries.
