Narrative:

I was flying [the] a position. The pilot brought our aircraft to a stop at [a] gate and turned off the fasten seatbelt sign. I got up; turned on the cabin lights; and picked up the phone. [The] C flight attendant went over to the service galley door and waited. I looked through the window waiting for the jet bridge to move. At this time; while I was looking out the window; a passenger asked if a stroller was out there waiting for them. I looked over my shoulder and said no strollers yet. I looked out the window again and saw a pilot standing on the jet bridge with the ops agent. The ops agent was standing at the jet bridge podium preparing to start movement toward the aircraft. I stood up from looking out the window and used the phone and made my 'flight attendants; please disarm doors for arrival and cross check' public address. At this time; I saw C flight attendant move to disarm the service galley door. I looked back out my window. Another passenger interrupted me and asked if the personal wheelchair for his son and the stroller for their infant was on the jet bridge. I looked out the window again and did not see it; turned around and said it will come up soon. I continued to look out the window watching the jet bridge approaching and listening to the people in the forward part of the aircraft. I heard aft doors crosscheck complete. I could hear the C flight attendant asking passengers to back up so the unaccompanied minor could be reached from the second row and move toward the front of the aircraft. After I had the door open; I could take him up to the top of the jet bridge. I put my hands on the door handles and waited for the ops agent to approach the door. I saw the ops agent look at me through the window with a smile. I started to move to open the door; but I was perplexed because it seemed very hard to open. I didn't understand why. I was looking at eye level and pushing the door. I did not look down until the pilot on the jet bridge said to stop; and moved the ops agent out of the way and then pushed the door closed. Somehow my right foot was caught on something and I felt pain on my right foot. The bustle fell down from the box. The first officer moved the girt bar and the bustle came out all the way out. Someone moved the bustle to sit on a ptk in the jet bridge. The service galley door was open and the provisioner was in the service galley at this time. I was in complete shock that is happened.I have two suggestions. The first being this: the C flight attendant gets up and stands on the carpet with their back to the cabin watching and waiting. A makes the PA 'flight attendants; disarm doors for arrival and crosscheck;' then the a disarms the forward entry door. After it is complete; a moves to jumpseat area so C has complete view of door and C says to a crosscheck. Then; a and C switch places so a now has their back to cabin and watches C disarm and then says crosscheck when they are finished. Passengers must not be up in our galley area at all during this time. Pilots come out too soon as well occasionally. I don't think passengers understand how dangerous it is to interrupt us. We have been establishing a rapport with them during the flight and they feel comfortable talking to us. My second suggestion would be that the pilots don't turn off the seatbelt sign until after we have disarmed the doors. If passengers are still in their seats while we are doing safety related duties; they are less likely to get in our way of completing our very important task of safety.

Title: B737 cabin crew reported that the entry door slide was not disarmed prior to opening of the door; causing injury to a flight attendant.
