Narrative:
We pulled up on J line and the gate agent couldn't get the jet bridge up to airplane. There was a large gap so they used an express bridge (small extension) to help get people off. After talking to operations they said the J line is painted wrong and has been for 5 months. They have ask [company] to paint a new line and have had no success. It is a safety hazard using the extension that's made for jr on a 737 and it's all so embarrassing.
