Narrative:
Planned runway for departure was 28C. We discussed the fact that it's not a normal runway for takeoff. This was necessitated by airport construction. I failed to brief that the hold short for 28C was further back from the runway. While single engine taxi I got distracted by the fact I waited too long to have the first officer start number 1 engine. We had exactly two minutes before takeoff. I looked and realized I didn't see any hold short. I said this to the first officer who also said he didn't either. At this time tower cleared us to line up and wait; which we did. ATC never questioned our position. The rest of the flight was uneventful.
