Narrative:

There was an aircraft in the pattern practicing lndgs and takeoffs on runway 14. The wind was from 090 degrees at between 5-10 KTS as reported by unicom operator in the office. I was just leaving the ramp and decided to use runway 4 because it was closer and avoided a lot of taxiing, and there is no taxiway to the departure end of runway 14. In this case, I was aware of the other aircraft and took special care to know where he was and to announce my presence. There are some woods that block the vision between the departure ends of runways 4 and 12. Since this is an uncontrolled field, it is possible that there might not be any radio communications between pilots in a similar situation. My purpose in writing is to alert someone to what I think is a possibly dangerous situation.
