Narrative:

I've flown through fll multiple times recently and each pushback crew has been hot microphone the entire push. I've asked the pushback crew about the hot microphone each time. I was previously told it was equipment related. This week I was told it is the station's procedure to have all of their headsets hot microphone for the entire push. My first officer and I remarked at how distracting the noise coming from the pushback crew's microphone was; especially as the engines are started. It really seems like a bad policy (if in fact it is a policy) to introduce distractions during a busy evolution like our pushbacks are. Fll is the only station where I've experienced this hot microphone problem and it has been consistent over my last several turns through there. Hoping to get some help for our crews and ensure ground ops is aware of the impact this could have on the safety of our operation.
