Narrative:
At newark; I have noticed an excessive amount of FOD under and around the aircraft while parked at the ewr gates. This FOD consists of small locks; trash; nuts and bolts; parts of zippers etc. I pick up what I can but see it on a regular basis in ewr compared to other stations. There have been times I see lots of FOD on the ramp and while throwing it away in the FOD can; I see that it is empty.
